Every joint is sealed and fastened before insulation or drywall closes it in. A seam that will be unreachable in a week is the one that has to be right today, and we photograph it that way.

Flex sagging between joists is a permanent airflow tax. Runs are strapped at proper intervals and stretched, not draped, so the duct still performs the way it measured on day one.

Measure the space, not the guess
We size the run to the room it will serve and check what the existing system can carry before proposing anything.

Plan the route
Shortest sensible path, fewest sharp turns, and a path that keeps the run out of spaces that will crush or cook it.

Set the supports first
Hangers and straps go in at proper intervals so nothing rests on a joist or sags between them once the run is loaded.

Hang and connect
Rigid where rigid belongs, flex properly stretched where it does not. Connections are mechanically fastened, not just pushed together.

Seal every joint before it is closed in
Mastic on the seams and the boots while they can still be reached, and photographed before insulation goes on.

We check delivery at the new registers against the rest of the system and show you the photo set of what is now behind the drywall.
Flex and rigid both belong — in different places
The argument about flex versus rigid duct is usually framed as a quality question, and it is really a placement question. Rigid metal holds its shape, keeps its cross-section under load and belongs on trunk lines and anywhere the run will be walked on, stored around or exposed. Flex is quiet, cheap to route around obstacles, and perfectly good on short final connections to a boot — provided it is pulled taut, supported at close intervals and not bent tighter than its own radius allows. Nearly every flex failure we cut out started as an installation shortcut: a run left slack because slack is faster than cutting to length, or a ninety-degree turn made by folding the duct instead of using a fitting. Installed correctly, flex on a short branch is not a compromise. Installed loose across an attic, it costs you airflow for the life of the house.
Adding a room means adding return, not just supply
The most frequent mistake we are called in to fix after somebody else's addition is a supply register with no return path. Air has to leave the room as fast as it enters, and if the only way out is the gap under a closed door, the room pressurises, the supply slows down and the space never reaches temperature no matter how big the branch is. That is why the plan for a new run includes where the air goes afterwards — a return in the room, a transfer grille, or a jumper duct into the hallway. It is a smaller piece of work than the supply side and it is the one that decides whether the addition feels like part of the house.

Do I need new ductwork or can what I have be repaired?
Sound rigid trunk that leaks at the seams is repair work. Flex that has been crushed for years, metal with corrosion through the joint, or branches that were undersized from the start are replacement work — sealing those just moves the problem a few feet. We photograph the run and show you which one you have.
Can you add ductwork for an addition or a finished basement?
Yes, and the first question is always whether the existing system has the capacity to feed it. If it does, we size and route the new run and add the return path the room needs. If it does not, we tell you that before you spend money on ductwork that will underperform from day one.
How long does a duct installation take?
A single branch for one room is usually a day. A full replacement across a house runs several, depending on access and whether ceilings have to be opened. We give you the expected window when we quote, and we tell you which days are noisy and which days need the space clear.
Will you work around my HVAC contractor or builder?
Yes, and it is common — we are frequently the duct crew on somebody else's project. Tell us who is doing the equipment and when the drywall is going up, and we will sequence around it so nothing gets closed in before the joints are sealed and photographed.
Do you install high-velocity or small-duct systems?
Tell us what the equipment is when you call and we will say plainly whether it is work we take on. We would rather turn down a job than learn a system on your house, which is the same reason we photograph everything we do install.
