In short
AMG cleans dryer vents throughout Essex County — Newark, East Orange, Bloomfield, Montclair, Maplewood, the Oranges and out to Livingston and Millburn. The county's housing is what decides the job. Newark and Irvington rowhouses were converted to in-unit laundry decades after they were built, so the vent usually takes the shortest hole through a party wall and terminates where nobody can reach it. Montclair and Glen Ridge Victorians run the opposite problem: a long horizontal duct through a finished basement ceiling with more elbows than code allows. We clear the whole line from the machine to the exterior hood, working it from both ends, then check that the hood damper actually opens. Free estimate, quoted before any work starts.

What changes here
Newark, East Orange and Irvington carry a large share of the county's pre-war multi-family stock. In-unit laundry was added long after those buildings went up, so the vent is normally a short punch through a party wall — and the exterior hood ends up in an alley or a light well where it never gets looked at.
Montclair, Glen Ridge and the Oranges are Victorian country. Basements were finished at some point in the last thirty years and the dryer duct disappeared above a drop ceiling, usually with four or five elbows in a run that code allows two of.
Livingston, Millburn and West Orange split-levels put the laundry on the main floor, which means a vertical run up through a wall cavity to the roof. Those are the ones where lint compacts hardest, because gravity works against the airflow the whole way.
Essex County has more stacked laundry closets than any county we work except Hudson. A stacked unit hides the connection completely — the machine has to come out to see it, and that is where most of the lint we pull actually sits.

Regularly. The detail that matters in a two- or three-family is whether the units share a vent run or a wall penetration — some conversions doubled up. We look before quoting, because a shared line is a different job from two separate ones.
No. Stacked and closeted units are most of what Essex County has. We pull the machine, clean the connection and the run from both ends, and put it back on its feet. The compacted lint is almost always right at that connection.
Longer than a modern house, usually. A finished ceiling means we work from the two open ends of a run we cannot see, and the elbow count decides the rest. We tell you what we found and photograph it.
