Air duct cleaning · Essex County, NJ
Every run, both plenums, the coil.
Open 24 hours, by appointment, free estimates, and photographs of every job. Newark, East Orange, Bloomfield, Irvington and the rest of Essex County, NJ.

In short
Essex County holds two very different kinds of ductwork and the job changes with them. Newark, East Orange and Irvington are dense pre-war housing converted to forced air late, so the ducts were threaded through whatever cavity was available and the returns were added as an afterthought. Montclair, Glen Ridge and the Oranges are large Victorians with several flues and, often, more than one system serving one house. West of them, Livingston and Millburn are post-war and later, where the ductwork was designed in but the flexible branches have had fifty years to sag. We seal the system, put it under negative pressure and clean every run, both plenums, the blower and the coil, then show you photographs from inside the duct.

What changes here
Newark and Irvington rowhouses were converted to forced air decades after they were built. The supply runs take odd paths through closets and joist bays, and the return side is frequently a single undersized grille doing the work of three.
Montclair Victorians often carry more than one system in one house — an original for the main floors and a later addition for a converted attic or a rear extension. Counting them before quoting is the whole job on those houses.
Maplewood and South Orange have a high share of houses where a finished basement enclosed the ductwork. That hides both the joints and the leaks, so what looks like a cleaning question is sometimes a sealing one.
Livingston and Millburn ranches and splits run long crawlspace or slab trunks. Flexible branch runs sag over decades, and a sagging branch collects everything that passes through it.

It changes the count, not the rate. Two systems means more supplies, more returns and two air handlers, and the number reflects that — but we give you the count before anything starts rather than discovering it halfway through.
Usually. In Essex County that room is normally at the end of the longest branch, or served by a return that was never sized for it. We say plainly whether cleaning fixes it, because often it does not.
Yes, and they are a large part of what we do here. The question that decides the job is how the conversion split the original system between the units — we count it before quoting.
