What Happens During a Professional Kitchen Hood Cleaning

The kitchen is covered with plastic sheeting, equipment is protected, and the floor is lined to catch runoff. A degreaser is applied to filters, hood interior, and accessible ductwork.

Filters are removed and washed separately. The hood interior, plenum, and as much of the duct as reachable from the hood are scraped and pressure-washed.

The exhaust fan on the roof is opened, the housing and blades are degreased, and the unit is reassembled with new gaskets where needed. The job ends with photos and a dated certification sticker.
