It begins with a load calculation
Room-by-room heating and cooling loads determine how much air each space needs. Duct sizes follow from those numbers, not from what was there before.
Skipping this step is why so many homes have one room that never gets comfortable.
Layout before fabrication
Trunk routing, branch takeoffs and return placement get planned around joists, plumbing and structure so the finished system has gentle turns instead of tight ones.
Fewer sharp transitions means quieter operation and lower static pressure for the life of the system.
Installation and sealing
Rigid metal trunks with sealed seams, supported flexible branches with no sag, and mastic or foil tape at every connection.
Every joint sealed properly is conditioned air that reaches a room instead of a crawlspace.
Commissioning is not optional
Airflow gets measured at each register and dampers are adjusted until the delivered air matches the design.
You should receive those numbers in writing when the job closes.
